The Crimson Tide Finished once again on top in the recruing world landing four five star atheletes and the nations top recruiting class. Nick Saban, even with the loss of his top recruiter Lance Thompson, did not lose a single previous comitment. Among some of the top recruits brought in by the Tide were escambia running back, Trent Richardson, Foleys DJ Fluker, Tana Patrick, Dre Kirkpatrick, and Nico Johnson. Bama passed LSU for the top spot when Lsu Commit, Kenny bell pulled his comitment and chose the tide.

Bama Holds off Ole Miss

The Alabama men's basketball team (12-6)-(2-2), defeated the Ole Miss Rebels 76-73 wednesday night in Coleman Collisium. The Tide's defense held together late in the second half stopping two key possesions of the rebels to hold on to a 74-73 lead before Senario Hillman knocked down 2 free throws with 2.1 seconds left to seal the victory for the tide.

Mikhail Torrence led the Tide in scoring with 24 pts, Torrence has scored 20 or more points in the past 3 games. The Tide stays at home to face Kentucky Saturday jan 24th tip off is sat for 2 pm.

Bama Hire pays off

The effect of the Tide's hire of assistant coach James Willis away from hated in-state rival Auburn didn't take long to become apparent. On Wednesday night, Seffner-Armwood linebacker Petey Smith announced he has a runaway favorite and the news is good for Alabama fans.

Smith, the 32nd-ranked inside linebacker nationally, has pretty much ended the recruiting process except for making his decision final. Smith Decided not to take his visit to auburn this weekend as he informed the coaching staff on wednesday.

Behind Enemy Lines

Coach Nick Saban went behind enemy lines and filled the vacant spot on Alabamas coaching staff.

James Willis the former linebackers coach at the University of Auburn was hired wednesday to fill the spot of Lance Tompson, who left the tide to join Lane Kiffin on the Tennessee staff.

Willis is very familiar with the mobile area which often is the states most fertile recruting area.

Steele Out for Season......Again

Alabama point guard Ronald Steele will not play the rest of the season, according to Crimson Tide head coach Mark Gottfried.The fifth-year senior is suffering from plantar fasciitis, which has forced him to miss the last two games.

Ronald Steele has played his last game for Alabama.Steele has not played since January 11, and averaged 12.9 points and 3.7 assists before pain in his heel sidelined him after a home win over LSU.

Ruben Randle visits Bama

The University of Alabama had a relatively small list of official visitors this weekend, but the headliner was a big one as Bastrop's Rueben Randle, the nation's top-ranked wide receiver, was in town for his official visit.

Ruben has already visited Oklahoma and will visit LSU next weekend, Randle will most likely make his desicion on Signing Day.

Bama to hire Carolina Assistant

Sal Sunseri the assistant coach for the Carolina Panthers, was hired to fill, one of the vacancies on Alabama's defensive coaching staff. Sunseri, who has been with the panthers for the last six years as a defensive line coach, also has experience in the collegiate level as well. Sunseri will handle inside linebackers for the Crimson Tide.

Sunseri coached the linebackers under Nick Saban at LSU, also was a linebacker coach under UA assistant coach Bobby Williams when was head coach at Michigan St. He also co0ach linebackers at Pittsburgh and Loisville.

The University is expected to make an announcement later this week.
